ganesh-festival-in-thar-desert

Its amazing to see the contrasts in India. A camel on the streets of South india? Or a huge Ganesh idol in the Thar desert? Which is more likely? If you were to believe the photographer the former.

Try reading a little more into the scene. The Ganesh idol, this year has been designed as Matsya Ganesha to give it the water theme. Water has been a worrisome factor as the rainfall has been rather short in many districts which are on the verge of being declared as drought-stricken. Maybe the Camel-God can help the Elephant-God with a tip or two on surviving in areas where water doesn’t abound.
