Under cover

With the rains this year, I hope the farmers are able to yield a good crop, and the water tables have risen and the lakes in and around the city heave a sigh of relief. Rains are generally good, except for the kids engaging in the gully-cricket tournament.

Mannat

Sometimes I wonder, if all the wishes, small or big, were granted would the world be a happier place?

At other times, I wonder who decides the fate of each wish?

An Evening Prayer

What are you supposed to do if you are just about to make a frame and someone just walks in there doing the most appropriate thing? Perhaps being there at the right time helps, like the evening on the holy month of Ramadan.

Shot at Hakim’s Tomb.
[From the book -“Heritage Capital-Hyderabad”]
Built during the reign of Abdullah Qutb Shah in memory of his physician, this tomb and mosque is situated amidst trees in a calm setting with the walls also painted with the symbolic green. The Mosque and the sarai
attached to it form a group that gives a rare feel of to the solace-seeker. It is perched on a hillock about five kilometers north-east of Golconda.

Not all posts are about photography. Sometimes the subject matter has a story that can be very thought provoking. In many temples people tie strings, bangles, cloth at a specific place if they have a wish that they want fulfilled. The locks here are tied for a similar reason. If a wish is fulfilled the person is to come and unlock it. All the locks here are a proof of the wishes that weren’t granted. And the rusted ones …~sigh

Happy New Year! May all your wishes come true! Feels strange signing the year as 2010. Maybe it will a little while to get used to.
