Making an Indian idol

making_a_4foot_idol_small

A small series on how the road side children are engaged in making the Ganesh statues. They were making a 4 foot Ganesh statue with plaster-of-paris, a whole lot of coir, a few wooden sticks and a couple of moulds(for the front and back.) The series needs to be put together and will take some time.

In this image the child is pasting the inners of the (would be) Ganesh Idol with coir soaked in plaster-of-paris. Many children participate in this activity
